Our Story

Smart Phone Systems started in 2020 and is owned and run by Phil McCorriston. It grew out of Delamere System Solutions, an IT support business for small businesses that started in 1999 and supported phone systems for many of its clients over many years. That means our team brings over 25 years of experience supporting small business IT and phone systems.

Today we design, set up and support hosted business phone systems and Business NBN for businesses across Melbourne’s South East, Gippsland and Australia-wide, from our office at Factory 1/13 Corporate Terrace, Pakenham.

The idea behind the business is simple. Most businesses do not need a more complicated phone system. They need one that fits the way calls actually come in, and someone local who keeps looking after it once it is live.

Our Approach

We start with how you take calls. Before anything is configured, we sit down with you, on-site or by video call, to learn how calls arrive, who handles what, and what should happen when people are busy, out of the office or closed for the day. Then we design the call flow around that, not around a generic template.

You get a real system, not a demo. New customers get their first month free on a fully working system set up for their business. Use it with your real calls and your real staff before you commit.

No lock-in contracts. Our agreements are month-to-month, so we have to keep earning your business. If we are not delivering, you can leave.

Independent advice. We deliberately do our own thing rather than chasing supplier partner levels, so our recommendations are based on what your business needs, not what a supplier wants to sell. 3CX is one of the hosted phone systems we offer, and we choose the setup that suits you.

• Our phones are answered 8am-10pm, 7 days, on 03 9100 1234.
• Support comes from our Melbourne-based team of three, not a ticket queue, and Phil is on call after hours.
• We do on-site installs and training anywhere within about a two-hour drive of Pakenham, and we have also done installs and on-site training in other parts of Australia. Travel beyond the local area is priced on application.
• Most setup and training can be done remotely, and we are happy to work alongside your existing IT supplier.
• We reach out at key times, like Christmas closures, so you do not have to remember to update your greetings.
• Our Business NBN plans can be bundled with your phone system, so one local provider looks after both your calls and your connection.

His background is small business IT support through Delamere System Solutions, which looked after phone systems for many clients over many years before Smart Phone Systems grew out of it in 2020. Phil keeps the business independent on purpose, so the advice you get is about what works for you.
